In Loving Memory of Beverly Hougland

With heavy hearts, the Osceola Council on Aging announces the passing of our beloved friend and longtime CEO, Beverly Hougland, who dedicated her life to serving the people of Osceola County.

Beverly was more than a leader. She was a mentor, nurturer, and mother figure to countless individuals in our community. She had a remarkable gift for seeing the good in everyone and inspiring others to reach for their highest potential.

A true visionary, Beverly dreamed of a community where seniors and families could thrive in self-sufficiency. She never let barriers stand in her way and taught us to believe, to persevere, and to serve with love. Her legacy is reflected in the programs she built, the lives she touched, and the community she helped flourish.

Even after her retirement, Beverly continued to embody her spirit of service. One of our fondest memories is of her quietly volunteering during Hurricane Dorian preparations in 2019. When asked why she was there, she simply said: “But they need me here.” That was Beverly—always present, always giving, always serving.

For Osceola County, Beverly was more than a leader—she was a guiding light whose vision and compassion touched every corner of our community. Her extraordinary life and dedication will continue to shape the Osceola Council on Aging for years to come. To us, she was not only our CEO, but truly part of our family.

We hold her loved ones close in our hearts during this difficult time and will continue to honor her extraordinary life of service.
