Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

Providing financial assistance to low-income households in meeting the cost of home heating and cooling to Osceola County residents.

You May Be Eligible for Assistance If:

  • You are an Osceola Resident
  • Your Household is at or below the State Median Income (see chart).
  • You have a past due utility bill or been recently disconnected (for crisis assistance only).
  • Your Household has not received assistance within the past 6 months (effective October 10/10/23)
  • Your Household meets the program Priority. Priority will be given to households with seniors 60 years of age and older, individuals receiving disability, and households with children 5 years of age and younger. If you are not a priority household you will be denied assistance

*Eligibility will be determined by 150% of the Federal Poverty Guideline for any household with 9 or more members

How to Apply:


!!!Attention!!! LIMITED Screenings will be taken on Monday 6/3/24 at 9 am !!!Attention!!!

(for priority households only and for households that haven’t received assistance within the last 6 months)

MAKE SURE AHEAD OF TIME you have the following items for your Household. Without these items, you will not be able to complete an application when these documents are requested. Be prepared to have these items so you can submit them quickly. The faster you get us the information the faster we can process your application.

You will need:

  • Social Security Cards for everyone in the Household
  • ID for all adults 18 years of age & over (ex: Driver’s License, State ID, Passport)
  • Birth Certificates for anyone under 18 years of age
  • Utility bill (your name must be on the bill)
  • Proof of Household Income for all household members
    • Last 4 weeks of pay stubs and/or
    • Unemployment letter and/or
    • Child support Documents and/or
    • Government assistance award letter (SSI or SSDI)
  • !!! IMPORTANT !!! Any adult (18 & over) with $0.00 income must complete a self-declaration form !!! IMPORTANT !!!
  • !!! IMPORTANT !!! If you have children and do not receive child support you must complete a self-declaration form !!! IMPORTANT !!!
