Responsible for oversight of all aspects of Human Resources for the Council on Aging including assisting in the hiring process, assisting in scheduling required training and oversight of the documentation, necessary policy & procedure updates, employee counseling concerns & potential terminations, benefits oversight, worker compensation and job descriptions . Requires an indepth knowledge of the constantly changing Human Resources practices and the adherence to all applicable employment practices and laws.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the assistance in the recruitment process of new hires to include placing ads, screening or conducting initial interviews as needed, assisting in reference checks and coordination of second interviews with appropriate program staff.
  • Complete personnel file information for each new employee as well as oversight of compliance regarding filing personnel action forms, annual evaluations, and training records on an on-going basis.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for newly hired employees.
  • Coordination of training requirements with departments as needed and scheduling of monthly training topics for all staff to aid in their continued personal & professional development.
  • Coordination of all employee insurance enrollment including health, vision, dental, disability, cancer, accident, hospitalization, life, COBRA, pre-paid legal services and IRA investment opportunities. Receive bids, compare offers, make selection suggestions and assist with open enrollments as well as month to month newly eligible employee enrollments.
  • Responsible for managing worker compensation claims to ensure timely reporting, follow-up with light duty assignments when available and incorporation of safety principles within various departments. Serve as staff liaison with insurance company.
