The Osceola Council on Aging celebrates the first anniversary of the opening of The Barney E. Veal Center July 2007 will always be remembered as the date that the Barney E. Veal Center opened to the public with a gala event. It's hard to believe a year has passed and everyone attending the first year anniversary festivities felt a sense of accomplishment, nostalgia and a place to call home among friends. Staff members of the Council along with nursing students from Valencia Community College served the clients a special lunch of baked chicken, green beans and a baked potato with a choices of toppings. Meanwhile, D.J. 'Joe' Matos kept the atmosphere upbeat with a mix of oldies and Latino songs of the 60's and 70's for dancing and entertainment. Happy One Year Anniversary!!! |

The Osceola Council on Aging once again recognizes and expresses their appreciation to the late
Barney E. Veal and his family for their generous support enabling the Council on Aging
to find a home for the Center. We'll always be proud to have Barney's name attached to this
Center and to our memories.
